In the late afternoon, begin a guided walking tour of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, also known as the “36 Streets.” Wander through Hang Be Market and around Hoan Kiem Lake, discovering narrow streets filled with local shops, cafés, and vibrant daily life. A perfect introduction to Vietnam’s capital.

After breakfast, begin a full-day city tour of Hanoi.
Pass colonial French architecture now used as government offices. Visit Ba Dinh Square and view the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (outside), followed by the One Pillar Pagoda from the 11th century. Continue to the Ho Chi Minh Museum and the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university.
In the afternoon, explore the Ethnology Museum, showcasing the diverse ethnic groups of Vietnam. Visit Ngoc Son Temple on Hoan Kiem Lake and learn about Vietnamese and French architectural influences. End the day with a relaxing one-hour low-speed cyclo ride through the city.

Visit Van Lam Village and enjoy a bamboo boat ride along the Ngo Dong River, passing limestone cliffs, caves, and lush rice paddies. Sail through Hang Ca, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba caves. After lunch, climb 500 steps at Mua Cave to enjoy panoramic views of Tam Coc.
Visit Hoa Lu, the ancient royal capital of Vietnam, before returning to Hanoi.
